PUSD Educator Art Workshop

Plumas Arts has long been a PUSD collaborator through the Artists in the Schools Program, providing rich interactions between local artists and students. In order to build on this successful partnership, Arts Education Program Manager Cary Walters Dingel from Plumas Arts wrote a grant, and received funding from the California Arts Council, a state agency, to develop an art workshop for teachers. Plumas Arts hoped that increasing artistic proficiency in teachers would also increase the amount of art taught and utilized in everyday classroom lessons.

CRC Red Ribbon Week 2016

Throughout PUSD October 24rd to October 28th was Red Ribbon week, which celebrates and advocates a drug free life for youth! Each school site participated in different activities to raise awareness. Among other activities C Roy Carmichael, with the help of PTA members Amber Schildman, Lyndi Johnson, Jessica Nelson, Lynee Crawford, and Samantha Gallagher, put on a motivational assembly for Red Ribbon Week.

Feather River Outdoor Education Camp celebrates 30 years

For thirty years the Plumas County Office of Education’s Outdoor Education Program, now affectionately known as Outdoor FREd (Feather River Education), has been providing Plumas County kids with the opportunity to embrace and craft their mountain kid identities. Although there are outdoor camps in many school districts, there is only one Outdoor Feather River Education camp and experience.
